Entry Regulations
Nebraska, a state located in the Midwest area of the United States of America adheres to the same entry regulations as the federal government. When flying into the United States, be sure to check for visa requirements. You can find the most recent updates or changes in entry regulations by visiting travel.state.gov. Please be sure to carefully study visa requirements and allow for extra time when applying for a visa to ensure that you will be able to enter.
Customs Regulations
Like most countries, the United States has requirements and restrictions on certain goods such as firearms, animals and animal products, plants, and plant products, fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as certain food and drug products. For additional information, visit www.cbp.gov.
Currency
The United States dollar is the official currency of the United States.
Language
The United States is the home of approximately 336 languages (spoken or signed) of which 176 are indigenous to the area. Fifty-two languages formerly spoken in the US territory are now extinct (Grimes, 2000).
The United States does not have an official language; nevertheless, English is the language used for legislation, regulations, executive orders, treaties, federal court rulings, and all other official pronouncements. In some states, English, Hawaiian, and Spanish are official. In 2000, the census bureau printed the standard census questionnaires in six languages: English, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Tagalog.
Electricity
The plug for power cords as well as wall plugs for personal appliances such as computers and hair dryers is 110-120V, 60Hz.
Health Insurance
Health insurance plans often do not cover all or any services you might receive outside your country of residence, so you are encouraged to purchase traveler's health insurance before leaving home.
About Lodging and Transportation
Accommodations
All activities will take place at Arbor Day Farm’s Lied Lodge & Conference Center in Nebraska City, Nebraska. This full-service facility offers a fine dining restaurant, cocktail lounge, indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, and fitness center. Lied Lodge is surrounded by 260 acres of orchards, vineyards, nature trails, and serenity. Golf is available nearby. Arbor Day Farm and Lied Lodge are conveniently located just 45 minutes from the Omaha, Nebraska airport, with shuttle service available for a modest fee. A block of guestrooms has been reserved for Working Forum attendees. Because rooms at Lied Lodge are limited, and are available only to people who have registered for the Working Forum on Nature Education, we will ask you to provide your Working Forum registration number when you make your Lied Lodge reservation. Lied Lodge guestroom rates are:
* $124 + 12% tax—single occupancy
* $134 + 12% tax—double occupancy
* $144 + 12% tax—triple/quad occupancy
We encourage you to make your Working Forum and Lied Lodge reservations early. We especially encourage you to coordinate with a friend or colleague and arrange to share a Lied Lodge guestroom, allowing as many Forum participants as possible to experience this unique facility.

From the airport to the hotel
Though the conference will take place in Nebraska City, most travelers will want to fly into Eppley Airfield in Omaha, Nebraska.
Shuttle Service:
As a convenience to Lied Lodge & Conference Center guests, ground transportation to pick up and return guests to Eppley Airfield in Omaha, NE, can be provided. Each way is 45 miles and takes approximately 55 minutes, depending on traffic and weather.
- The cost to or from Eppley Airfield is $20.00 per person per trip.
- Vehicles can accommodate up to ten passengers with luggage. Each vehicle is clearly marked 'Arbor Day Farm' in large lettering on the side.
- Scheduling shuttle service must be arranged with Lied Lodge & Conference Center at least seven days in advance. To schedule shuttle service, call (800) 546-5433 and have all flight information available for all persons requiring shuttle service.
- Shuttle service is on first-come, first-serve basis. Lied Lodge realizes that plans can change at the last minute, and will attempt to accommodate any changes that occur.
- Incoming guests will find the shuttle service outside of Door #4 at the curbside area. The vehicle, with driver standing nearby, will be visible at this location.
- For guests on return flights, it is recommended that guests leave Lied Lodge at least two hours prior to flight departure time. In order to accommodate all guests, planned return shuttles will leave on time.
- In the event that shuttle service is unavailable, you may want to call Tree City Cab of Nebraska City. Their telephone number is (402) 873-6058. Since this business is not affiliated with Lied Lodge, arrangements must be made directly with them.
- The shuttle service is also available to and from the Nebraska City Municipal Airport. The cost of this service remains at $20.00 per person per trip.
For conference participants not
staying at the Lied Lodge, please inquire with your hotel to arrange transportation.
About the Working Forum
What is Included in Your Registration Fee?
The registration fee is $US 445 per person. This fee includes:
- all Working Forum presentations and workshops
- all Working Forum handouts and materials
- Ticket for International dinner
- Ticket for Barbecue and barn dance
- Two breakfasts
- Two lunches
- Ticket for the Arbor Day Tree Adventure
- $20 gift certificate to redeem in Nature Education bookstore
Working Forum Language
The Working Forum will be conducted in English. In your conversations and contributions to sessions, keep in mind that English is not the first language for many delegates. Try to speak clearly with a minimum of jargon.
Working Forum Attire
Recommended attire for the Working Forum is business casual.

Program Changes/Cancellation
The World Forum Foundation reserves the right to make changes in programs and speakers, and to cancel programs if enrollment criteria are not met or when conditions beyond its control prevail. If the Working Forum is not held for any reason, the liability of the World Forum Foundation is limited to registration fees only.
Cancellation Policy
If you cancel in writing more than one month prior to the Working Forum, a 10 percent service fee will be charged. Delegates who do not attend, or who cancel less than one month prior to the Working Forum, are responsible for the entire registration fee.
Photo Release Policy
By virtue of your attendance, you agree to usage of your likeness in still and video photography without compensation or notification.
