World Forum Networking Project

Mission

The Networking Project supports long-term projects developed by and involving World Forum participants from different countries with grants ranging from $500 to $2,500.

The Networking Project was created by and funded by the operator of the World Forum bookstore, Pademelon Press from Sydney, Australia. The Department of Community Services in New South Wales, Australia later joined as a funding participant.

Projects

The first project to receive funding from the Networking Project was an assessment of services provided to children infected or affected by HIV/AIDS in Windhoek, Namibia. The project resulted in the publication of a book distributed to all attendees at World Forum 2005 in Montreal, and was the impetus for the HIV/AIDS and Young Children Action Tank.

A second project receiving funding was "Sharing or Early Childhood Development Distance Learning Initiatives - Canada and Nepal." This project resulted, among other things, in the establishment of the Journal of Early Childhood Development which has been distributed to attendees at World Forum 2005 and World Forum 2007.
