Bryan G. Nelson

Bryan G. Nelson has worked with young children, men, fathers and families since the 1970s. He has worked with newborns, early/elementary education, Head Start children and families and taught high school students, all in a variety of programs and locations, throughout the world. He is father of two children, (Otto and Emma) and continues to work with children and families.

Since 1979, he has served as founding director of MenTeach, a national non-profit with a mission to increase the number of men teaching children. He serves as faculty at Metropolitan State University teaching early childhood development and consulting with teacher recruitment programs. He is author of articles, books and chapters about men, fathers and children.

He has appeared on the Today Show, CNN, NBC Nightly News and is quoted in the national media. He has received various awards including a Leadership Fellowship to Harvard University to research men, fathers and children.

He is one of the founding board members of the National Practitioners' Network for Fathers and Families, one of the founding fathers of the Festival of Fathers and served as president of Minnesota Association for the Education of Young Children.
