Celebration of Diversity Reception and Awards
Thursday, November 4, 2010
This is a fun event to celebrate you! Join us in celebrating the different identities that make up our organization. The NAEYC Celebration of Diversity mission is to build more visibility, support, membership and leadership roles for the groups they represent both within the organization and the ECE field. These eight NAEYC Interest Forums (IF) include: Asian IF, Black Caucus IF, Diversity & Equity IF, Family Child Care IF, Latino Caucus IF, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender IF, Men in Education Network IF and the Tribal and Indigenous Early Childhood Network Interest Forum.

While each of these interest forums focuses on issues of specific interest to them, they also share a common vision of a more equitable association, ECE field and world. To strengthen everyone's work, it was vital to create an arena for communication, connection and relationship building. The "Celebration of Diversity Reception" was instituted to meet these needs. Begun in 2002, the reception has been very successful and the number of attendees has grown each year. Come join us to celebrate our unique and also common qualities at this annual event. Meet new people or see some long time friends. Everyone is welcome!

Men in Education Network Interest Forum meeting
Friday, November 5, 2010
An annual meeting for National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) members to discuss the issues of men teaching. Men in Education (M.E.N.) Network Interest Forum invites men AND women to take the time to learn and share information on a variety of activities for men, fathers, and others who have an impact on the lives of young children. Learn about what's happening in the USA but also meet some of the men and women leading Internationally.

Find out how to recruit more men to your program, and how to support and retain men you already have. Help set the future agenda for the interest forum, have fun, and make new friends!
