advocacy • Global Leaders • Italy

Roger and I were sitting in the airport in Bologna waiting for our flight to Vienna and then on to Montenegro. We were reflecting on the powerful whirlwind of our time in Reggio Emilia with the Global Leaders. It was great for Roger and me to have the opportunity to meet with these special people. Their advocacy stories were beyond any expectations we could have imagined–from developing an income generating handwashing campaign in slums in Kenya, to creating a national strategy for early care and education in Lebanon, to creating visibility for early childhood in Fiji. Nine projects of similar power and range, mentored through Global Leaders and leveraged with small grants. There were cheers, tears, hugs as they shared their stories. As a group and as individuals they owned this opportunity.

As a Global Leader, I ditto your comments Bonnie…the emotions were very high from everyone after experiencing such a life changing and very powerful event in Italy…It was truly amazing to hear and network with such a powerful group of leaders in the field of Early Care and Education from across the world doing so many amazing things on behalf of children and families.
I thank you and the entire World Forum and Global Leaders Team for changing my life forever.
You have inspired me to know that every voice counts and that advocacy work… no matter how small can have a tremendous impact on behalf of children.
